John Mikowychok is a southeastern Pennsylvania keyboardist and vocalist performing at private events, cocktail parties and more. He can perform solo piano or piano with voice.
A performer for over 40 years in wedding bands, funk groups, and cocktail-hour ensembles, John understands the nuance of great live music in fine dining and special event settings, including subtlety, timing and how to work a crowd or simply blend into the ambience. John is versatile, prepared and professional.
Keys
Though he loves to play a well-tuned acoustic piano, John can provide a digital piano set-up as well. Depending on your space and the tone you're seeking, he can recommend the best configuration.
Voice
John is a tenor, with natural jazz and blues style. Performing in a wedding cover band for years, he is often also able to convincingly mimic the timbre of the original artist.
Influences
John's playing is influenced by jazz, funk, classic rock, and new-age piano. He is inspired by the stylings of George Duke, Russell Ferrante (Yellowjackets), Chick Corea, and Lyle Mays (Pat Metheny Group).
Repertoire
John specializes in classic hits of the 1930s and '40s, with a mixture of contemporary light pop and jazz. Songs can be performed with or without vocals (as applicable). He can also learn a favorite song of an honored guest, if desired.

Booking
John is booked in 40- or 60-minute sets with a maximum performance time of three (3) hours. He will play your onsite acoustic piano, or he can provide an electric piano setup that requires approximately 6'x8' of space. John will arrive in a black turtleneck and sport coat, jacket and tie, or tuxedo as appropriate for your event or venue.
