00:00 / 00:00

John and Laura are a father-daughter duet offering concert-style performances or background music for senior living community events. They are a professional act that will leave your residents raving and guests impressed.

Featuring classic songs from the 1920s through '70s from giants like Nat King Cole, Ella Fitzgerald, Frank Sinatra and Etta James, John and Laura love to share music that is timeless, melodic and sophisticated. Setlists are carefully crafted with a mix of upbeat toe-tappers and sweet ballads, with a thoughtful introduction to each piece. John and Laura believe in pleasing the ear, capturing the heart, and reviving the memory to create moments of joy and relaxation for seniors.

About John

John Mikowychok is a southeastern Pennsylvania keyboardist and vocalist performing at 55+ communities, senior homes, and at private parties and weddings. He can perform solo piano but loves playing piano and singing, particularly as a duet with his daughter. A performer for over 40 years in wedding bands and cocktail-hour ensembles, John's repertoire is well-suited to seniors who enjoy easy-listening music from their younger days. John is versatile, prepared and professional.

Though he loves to play a well-tuned acoustic piano, John can provide a digital piano set-up. Depending on your space, he can recommend the best configuration.

John is a tenor, with natural jazz and blues style. Performing in a wedding cover band for years, he is also able to convincingly mimic the timbre of the original artist.

John's playing is influenced by jazz, funk, classic rock, and new-age piano. He is inspired by the stylings of George Duke, Russell Ferrante (Yellowjackets), Chick Corea, and Lyle Mays (Pat Metheny Group).

About Laura

A professional singer and John's daughter, Laura has been performing since the age of 6 when she studied at the Pennsylvania Academy of Music. She has spent her entire life performing, from soloist to choral ensemble member and even accomplished public speaker. A church cantor, wedding musician, and cast member in multiple community musicals, Laura is proud to join her father in playing classic songs that showcase the voice she inherited from her grandmother.

Laura is a soprano, with natural operatic vocal style. Her voice is suited well to Broadway, classical opera, jazz and Motown.

Laura is influenced by the style of diva performers like Sarah Brightman and Barbra Streisand, and is inspired to nuance by jazz voices like Ella Fitzgerald and Natalie Cole. She gravitates towards older music of the '20s through '70s.

John and Laura specialize in classic hits of the 1920s through '50s, with a mixture of contemporary light pop and jazz from the '50s through '70s. For holiday gatherings, they play a mix of secular and sacred music as the party host desires. Songs can be performed with or without vocals. They can also learn a favorite song of an honored guest, if desired.
